A long note about why our wheels are quiet

We started Quietport because of a single sound — the one a hard-shell suitcase makes when somebody drags it past you at 6 a.m. at the gate. It's not a loud sound on its own. It's the kind that adds up across a terminal until you can feel the whole room rattling.

Most spinner wheels are made the cheap way: a single hard polyurethane disc on a plain steel axle. They roll fine on smooth tile, but they buzz on jet bridge grating, they slap on rubberized boarding ramps, and they pop loudly across the seams in airport flooring. Then you add the standard telescoping handle — the kind that sits in an exposed channel on the back of the case — and every bump rings through the aluminum tubes like a small bell.

So we did two things, and we kept doing them until they were right.

One: we replaced the single hard wheel with a silent double-spinner — two softer co-molded wheels per corner, on a sealed bearing, mounted on a TPU shock axle that absorbs the small vibrations instead of transmitting them. They're quieter on every surface we tested, and they roll truer when the case is heavy.

Two: we recessed the handle. The aluminum telescoping tubes sit in a channel that's molded into the shell of the case, not bolted onto the back of it. When the handle is down it sits flush — no exposed bar, no rattle, no snagging on the overhead bin lip.

That's most of what makes a Quietport quiet. The rest is the basic stuff we refused to cut corners on: a real polycarbonate shell, a real TSA-approved combination lock, anti-tear zipper pulls on the checked piece, compression straps inside, and a washable liner you can actually take out.
